M'lar was one of the newest impressionees and he was quite awestruck by his blue. It didn't matter to him that Sileduth was blue, or that he was small. He was his and that was about it. The dragon was mostly sleepy as the young man led the way towards the Barracks. The little dragon moving along next to him until they found the closest cot to fall onto. Or well, the nearest wallow to fall into. Sileduth dropped down almost immediately and curled up to sleep. He just kind of watched his dragon before beaming at the next person that walked by.
"Isn't he great?" He sounded just as young as he looked but he did seem to be standing a little taller since he had impressed. It didn't matter that he wasn't the most important person out of the group of impressionees, he was just delighted to have impressed. Sileduth raised his head and peered over at his lifemate and made a chirp like noise before shaking his head and curling up again.

Talera had been walking not far behind the younger M'lar. Aerroth herself waddled ahead of her lifemate, and the woman let the golden girl do what she thought best. The dragonet was tired, and would likely be on the hunt for the largest quarters before settling in for the night. Talera herself felt the need to speak to the newest blue rider of the clutch before finding rest, however.
Having the sense to hunt down a piece of the sanded egg before fully leaving the hatching grounds (a feat made easier when Aerroth realized that textures could be enjoyable when on other things), Talera had been fingering the rather large portion of broken shell for most of the trek back to the barracks. “M'lar,” she grinned, holding the piece up, “I hope you hadn't forgotten about this. Aerroth and I made sure to grab a piece for you. I know it doesn't compare to that gorgeous blue of yours, but I thought you might still like a shard.”
I found a room. Come. See. Talk with that child later. Aerroth, Talera thought, realizing the interaction was already becoming second nature, wouldn't it suit a queen's rider better if her subjects loved her? How am I supposed to earn their affection if I don't start early? The gold mulled the notion over, then replied, I see your point. Well. Do hurry. You'll need your rest more than these plebeians. “Says the dragon that was speaking like a snippy toddler, an hour ago...” Talera muttered. She brightened immediately, however, and held the shell out for M'ler to take. “Think of it as a souvenir from your success, today.”

M'lar had been staring at his blue again when he heard the woman behind him. The young boy practically beamed at the woman though there was a bit of surprise at the mention of the shell. He glanced down at it before glancing up at her with an even bigger, if slightly sheepish, smile. "I did forget." He rubbed the back of his head before reaching out to take the shell piece. He was just as tired as his dragon but he was definitely not going to object to getting a piece of the shell, even if he had wished he'd impressed the brown that had come out, it had been short lived as Sileduth had made it clear that M'lar was his.
"Thank you Talera." He said with a bob of his head as he held the egg shard close to his chest. There was a bit of a curious tilt of his head for a moment before he looked a little shyly at her. "Well... that would be Goldrider Talera now. Uh... thank you.. ma'am." He did look at her a little in awe. She was a gold rider and she was talking to him. A lowly weyrbrat.
Rider now, mine. The sleepy mind voice of his blue brought his attention over to where Sileduth was laying, one eye half open and peering at the two of them. It brought a slight smile from the young boy.

Talera snorted. “We're both weyrlings for a good Turn and a have, M'lar. The time to call me “ma'am” was when you were still creche-bound. Besides,” she added with a small smile, “I'm just as new to this as you are. And anyway, you'll be calling me all sorts of names before training's out, I've no doubt. I mean, someone's got to help old N'ven out with you lot.” Winking, she ruffled the lad's head. “Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to see a gold about an annoying habit.”
I heard that. Then kindly stop pressing on my mind. Bullying won't get you anywhere, and just makes me linger in hallways all the more. But I'm tired! Then sleep. Talera was in little mood to placate a petulant child that evening. Fatigued, with burnt knees to boot, she wasn't about to let the gold carry on like a whimpering toddler. “Take care, M'lar. I'll see you in training.” With that, Talera walked on in search of her lifemate's chosen quarters.
Once within the chamber, she allowed herself a hearty yawn, stretching as she fell across the bedding. Aerroth snorted. That's hardly ladylike. “My dear, I'm far too tired to care about what does and does not look ladylike in the presence of my bed, my dragon, and the closed door,” the woman replied, shirking her trousers off without sitting up. Then I suppose I should tell you that you left the door open. “That would be appreciated, yes.” Kicking the trousers off, Talera supposed she should be grateful that the doorway was not within direct viewing of her bed. Even so, when she rose from her lounged position, she made an effort to only get so far as her toes against the edge of the door, before using the force of her foot to close off the room. See where you'd be without me? “Pantless in public?” And you thought me just a snippy babe. Aerroth huffed. Talera grinned at the beast. “You are a snippy babe, dear one. That doesn't mean I don't give credit where it's due. How's about a good scrub down?” Aerroth's head snapped up, peering over the mattress at her rider. Truly? Even if I fall asleep while you attend me? Talera had moved from the doorway to change into proper cleaning attire – if a dragon was anything like a child, the woman reasoned, things were about to get horribly messy. “Of course.” I should like that.

He giggled at her before shaking his head and pointing in the direction her gold had gone. "You're gonna get called ma'am a lot because of her." He had been raised in the Weyrhold, it was normally to call a Goldrider 'ma'am' even if they didn't like it. There was a bit of a shake of his head. "Nah, N'ven isn't doing Weyrlings. They haven't decided who they're putting in yet I don't think. Everyone was arguing as we were coming in." And he hadn't the foggiest about what.
"Sleep well." He said with a smile before moving to sit on his cot and stare at Sileduth some more. There were others coming in and he was glancing between all the dragons and his blue. In his mind, Sileduth was the prettiest among them but that was merely because the blue was his dragon. The shell was placed on the little trunk that every Weyrling got. Tomorrow would be all about getting their things from the Candidate Barracks and moving them over. "Sileduth." The young boy said with a faint sigh as he continued to stare.

Fala and Zemoth, [R'zon and Cyinoth]While the newly named R’zon hadn’t been too far behind Talera and her Gold, he hadn’t been in any sort of mood for stopping to chat with anyone. Cyinoth was quite tired and he didn’t want to keep his dragon waiting or wanting for anything at that point in time. So the two had headed off to find a sleeping place for themselves while Fala and Zemoth came in behind them.
Zemoth plodded alongside His with his head lowered from his exhaustion. It was very hard work breaking out of those shells, you know! And now his belly was full and he had His and everything was good… or it would be once he found a nice place to sleep. Zemoth plopped himself down in one of the closest wallows and curled up with a content yawn. This placed Fala quite close to the young boy with the Blue, but she didn't mind... she'd lived in much closer quarters with a whole crew of men for most of her life. She sat down beside Zemoth and cradled his head in her lap, stroking her fingers between his headnobs softly and looked over at the boy with his Blue.
Before Zemoth had chosen her, in the few days she’d had between being Searched and hatching day, she’ thought maybe she would like a Blue best. A nice sea-colored Blue… the prettiest blue on Pern. But that had been before Zemoth. And while she admired the coloring of the boy’s Blue, she just couldn’t see it as anywhere near as beautiful as her Zemoth’s coloring, and Blue had always been her favorite color! Zemoth was perfect as perfect could be.
“Hey, congratulations on Impressing, kid. He’s pretty,” she nodded toward M’lar’s Blue, meaning what she said about him being pretty, even if he wasn’t as pretty as Zemoth. The Brown in question sighed and fell asleep rather quickly as she continued to caress the top of his head.

Ralaikoth trotted along beside her rider, trying not to reveal how sleepy she really was. She wanted to look dignified, not all droopy in front of everyone watching them walk to the barracks. Especially not when that Gold was just ahead of them.
I don't understand why she's getting all the attention![/color] Ralaikoth tossed her head. A'lan smiled and scratched her eye ridges, wondering if the Green really thought herself a Queen. He had a feeling that Ralaikoth was going to be a handful, but he loved her nonetheless.
It was probably a good thing that Aerroth had already departed when the greenpair reached their quarters. A'lan settled onto a cot near M'lar, and Ralaikoth curled up in the wallow, finally allowing herself a bit of rest. She was still watching the nearby Brown and Blue like a hawk, though.
"Congratulations, you two," A'lan told Fala and M'lar, grinning at them. They both looked as blissful as he felt. He was a little surprised to see Fala over here sharing quarters with the boys, but she was a Brownrider, he supposed. N'ven wouldn't like it, but he wasn't in charge of them anymore.
