Character Description

M'ker is just on the borderline of tall. He's well built, having the muscle tone of someone who gets down into trenches with his men... so to speak. Of all the things most noticeable about M'ker are his blonde hair and green eyes. He looks every bit like his father did but lacks that darker coloring. His hair is often cropped short and kept neatly back.
Like fairly much every person who spends time in the sun, M'ker has a nearly permanent tan but doesn't look as dark or as bad when standing next to his bronze. As of late, M'ker has started to wear greys and blacks but all of his clothing is finely made.

Character Personality

M'ker is your typical Weyrholder. He was raised from birth to be a rider but he still learned a craft to help support himself when not dealing with the general life of being a Weyrleader. Being in charge is not something he's used to yet even after being the leader for so long. He's dedicated to his Weyrhold, it's just he always pictured someone else being the leader. Maybe it was because his father had been one and he never believed he could match up with him.
Despite that, M'ker is very much a gentle kind of person. He never did understand how he impressed a bronze all those Turns ago but he's not going to question it now. With Gerra's death and his daughter's plans, he's more focused then ever on taking care of his dragon. That is the simplest thing to do and it's something he can do well.

Character History

M'ker was born as a product of a Gold flight.
As his parents were both leaders, he spent most of his time in the Creche but his father did take an interest in him. Growing up, he often spent time with the Farmcrafters and it seemed he would head in that direction for his life.
Then came the clutch of I8 T425 when he impressed his Kaelisth. Quite perhaps the happiest day of his life.
Training went as usual for M'ker as he went from Weyrlinghood to riding in the Second Wing. He had wanted to be in First with his father but that hadn't gone over so well.
There was training and practice and then along came Gerra. She had been a Senior Weyrling long before he ever stood. She was cocky, vain and everything you'd expect from someone who felt they deserved gold.
He was only fifteen when her dragon rose and his caught and the poor boy became smitten with her.
So began M'ker's constant attempts to have his dragon win those gold flights.
Seven Turns later, he ends up as Weyrleader at only Twenty Two Turns of age. He also becomes a father with the birth of Gemma, the second happiest moment of his life.
Changes were made while he was Weyrleader and most were for the better of the Weyrhold. During a fight with Gerra, he left to deal with business and she made her dragon rise early.
Distraught that she would do so to him, M'ker refused to really deal with the woman for some time. Even suffering a bad injury when his father became adamant that he wished to Between instead of continue to grow old (T'kon having begun to lose his sight).
M'ker finally revealed the actual depth of his feelings and they became Weyrmated. Unfortunately, this caused her dragon to rise again only to be caught by Telonth again. Gerra, however, remained in M'ker's weyr.
He went on to become Weyrleader again when Gelwinth rose the next time. He weathered a great many problems as time went on but was devastated when he awoke one morning to hear Nereth's pained cry before she betweened. His mother had passed in her sleep.
He managed to cope well by delving into his work with the Weyrhold. Perhaps it was this that prevented him from noticing that Gerra began to get sick. The Weyrwoman hid it well, not revealing her illness. Even when her dragon rose and a gold egg was finally on the sands, she still did not tell.
It was only after Gelwinth's last flight that he finally realized something was wrong. The dragon seemed to 'get away' from Gerra and afterwards it was revealed the strain of the flight was too much on her. Succumbing to illness, she died in their shared bed.
Even though his beloved daughter was almost finished Weyrlinghood, he retreated into his work. With his daughter's desire to leave Cepju; that is all that remains. The Weyrhold and his dragon.

Dragon Description

Kaelisth is large but lithe. He's had Turns of being the top dragon of the Weyrhold and it shows. His hide gleams with the care that has been given it by his rider. Each part of his body is perfectly proportionate and there is not a blemish or strange color at all. He's a true reference to what a dragon is supposed to look like. Even when he walks, he has that gait that is typical of a sure personality.

[cs=4]
Dragon Personality

Kaelisth is definitely a bronze. He has the attitude needed to pull off being a bronze. He's cocky and downright self assured. That being said, he's not actually a bad guy about it. He just reeks of self confidence. Beneath that is the calm and gentle interior of a dragon willing to help others and to show how good a dragon can be. He's happy being bronze and being with M'ker although he can't understand why his rider is so unhappy with being a Weyrleader. He rather enjoys chasing those golds and greens. After all, it shows off his prowess in flight.
