We've simplified time here so that it's not one day for one day to make it easier for people to play.
In Pern there are what are called Turns. Each Turn is roughly 13 months or a little over a year for us. Not much fun to play it out fully, is it? So instead, what we do is break it into seasons.
Spring, Summer, Fall/Autumn and Winter.
These are further broken down into early and late just to give some more idea of when something was.
So how does that work for us?
Well, every 6 months will be a new Turn. Roughly every month and a half will be a new season. Confused? Don't worry, we'll have an indicator at the top of the board to tell you what time of year it is.
As you can see, we have something called a P9 but what that usually means is just Pass 9 (We're in the 9th Pass of the Red Star).
You can also see that we have a fairly low number next to T (T for Turns), thats merely because the Pass just started. Think of it like a new month, we start back at 1 and work our way up.
Confused about when your character would be born? Simply add the current number next to T to 450 and subtract your age.
450 is used because the previous Interval (which is a span of time where the Red Star does not travel past Pern) was 450 Turns long.
Now, you're probably wanting to rp something out later or earlier in the Turn. It's possible to do so by the glory of RP or Fuzzy Timing it as we call it. As long as you note that you're doing an RP that happened outside the current time, you're good as gold. Just be careful about doing 'future' RPs as you won't have the full information for what happens then.
